Want to know more about Emma Joy? Australian singer/songwriter and pianist, Emma Joy is an artist who fuses Pop, Neo-Soul and Jazz in her musical style. Originally from Brisbane, she began writing and performing around the Brisbane music scene, before travelling to New York. After her first visit, she released a local EP entitled NY/BNE.

In 2010, Emma was awarded a scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where she studied songwriting and voice. At Berklee, she met and collaborated with producer Derek Snyder, releasing the EP ‘Emma Joy – An Introduction’. Emma’s song ‘Why’ was selected to be produced by American R&B singer Patrice Rushen. In Boston, she performed the National Anthems for the American Australian Association and was a featured artist for the Queensland Flood Fundraiser at the British Embassy.

In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles, where she started assisting Paul McCartney’s bassist Brian Ray on film production, as well as assisting 6-time Grammy-nominated arranger Chris Walden. She performed her songs for Grammy U and at singer/songwriter venues such as Bar Lubitsch, The Witzend and Genghis Cohen. In 2013, she released her third EP ‘Sweet Love’ and music video ‘Melodies’. A passionate music educator, she took her 3rd grade students into the Village Studios in West Los Angeles and directed The Student Recording Project.

Now based in Sydney, Emma is releasing her debut full-length album ‘Universal’, drawing from her 5 years living in the USA. Alongside creating music, Emma is an MBA candidate at the University of Sydney and is the founder/director of the Global Songwriting Partnership.
