Event description

Description

A party-cum-exhibition that facilitates meaningful cross-inquiry between music and poetry. There will be dancing, drivel, and deep-thought as different practices investigate the spaces between sound, sense, visuals, music, and “the word”. Get poetic. Get weird.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Sean works (often under the company 'Sexually Transmitted Politics') in interdisciplinary nonsense and absurdity. It's often a bit poetry and it's always performative. He has written and directed three plays that go span improvisatory performance, hyper-meta spectacle, and conventional drama. He has performed as a performance artist at Splendour in the Grass, Secret Garden, and in Sydney Fringe. His material is always collaborative, creative, never innovative, and always crafty.

Julia Christensen is a Pisces-cusp-Aries NIDA Acting graduate with no back up plan. She is one half of ‘Sexually Transmitted Politics’. Julia has performed and devised for theatres around Australia including King’s Cross Theatre, The Old 505, 45 Downstairs, Glen Street Theatre, The New Theatre, Chippen Street Theatre, Giant Dwarf, Depot Theatre and PACT. She has never felt more understood as a person than when a reviewer described one performance as, “a fraction too heightened to be truly believable but certainly entertaining”. Anyway here’s ‘Wonderwall’.
