About this Event

My first ever seminar in Dubai is here!

I have teamed up with Dunes Crossfit Dubai to bring to you my 1 day olympic lifting seminar!

Over the course of the day I will be going right back to basics and teaching you step by step how to perform and coach the olympic movements of snatch and clean and jerk as well as many assistance exercises and drills to help you teach and practise these efficiently.

In addition to this I will be teaching you how to screen movement correctly for barbel training and mobilise efficiently for these movements, one of the most neglected areas in strength training performance.

The seminar is suitable for all standard and coaches alike as I will tailor areas of the seminar specifically to your needs.

The seminar is practical and there will be many training sessions we will be doing together as well as theory sessions to discuss programming and training principles!

I have conducted over 100 weightlifting seminars now and they are notoriously just as much fun as they are educational!

The seminar includes

A 1.5 hour session on mobility for weightlifting; beginning with a stretching protocol for warming up for the olympic lifts, before progressing into some of the key exercises I use to improve my mobility for weightlifting. This is also a great warm up for the later sessions

A 1.5 hour olympic weightlifting session breaking down the technique for snatch and clean and jerk; looking at the basics from start position to first pull and the transition.

Informal talk and Q&A where I will talk about my experiences, nutrition, programming and psychology of weightlifting; during this session I will try to expand on as many questions as possible from the group attending.

A 45 minute demonstration where I perform both snatch and clean and jerk variations during this time we will also talk over use of equipment and my 'pre-lift process';

The final session is a 1.5 hour olympic weightlifting 'max out' session to put into practice what has been learnt in the earlier sessions. During this session I am to work a little more individually with participants and do some video analysis so that they each have individualised feedback to take away from the day.
