Event Details

Every private practitioner and public presenter usually wants to focus on discussing their highly successful clinical outcomes. It makes them look good and it’s great for their business too. No one really wants to reveal the traps they fell into along the way as it is perceived as just so unprofessional, though it’s always the elephant in the room. Yet if we are to truly learn by our own and other’s mistakes, then with suitable humility and anonymity, can we please discuss what sometimes goes wrong in our private practises? We all have had some clinical experience, from our earliest supervised student clinic training days, through the spectrum of clinical experience and life long learning to become one of the “grand old masters” in our own natural medicine fields. At some time, we all have had to swallow that bitter pill of experience gained from the many challenges that there are in clinical practise. This seminar is intended for us to help each other in a safe professional place. I’ve had my fair share of hard knocks that have done me some good in the end, so I would like to present some of my favourite traps – the ones where I have learnt the most. I’ll share with you my hard earned insights on pharmacopoeias, posology and patient management. I would like it if we can openly discuss these together and explore the myths and rhetoric surrounding them, and other related topics.

Then, if you are feeling bold, or you prefer to wear a disguise, you are welcome to bring your own burnt finger experiences and clinical challenges to share and discuss in the seminar time allocated in the afternoon session for such an exploration. This seminar is intended as an exercise in group mentoring, so come along with a professionally helpful attitude and we can all help each other.

Presenter:

Peter Berryman has been continuously in private practice since 1985. Peter has taught natural medicine students Homeopathy and Bioscience, and supervised student Homeopathic clinic since 1990. Peter is currently an academic at Australis College in Brisbane. He was previously a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Bioscience at the Endeavour College of Natural Health, and the Academic Manager of the Bay of Plenty College of Homeopathy. Peter has graduated from five different Universities and three different Colleges during his training, including his recently completed Master of Science in Homeopathy, awarded with Merit by the University of Central Lancashire in England.
