Do you want to generate coherent, compelling writing in any genre? Enrol in this three-hour editing workshop with Dr Roslyn Petelin, author of the bestselling How Writing Works and designer of the online course WRITE 101x: English Grammar and Style, which has attracted over 350,000 students to date. Participants will be invited to submit a 150-word sample of their writing in any genre prior to the workshop for feedback.

About Roslyn Petelin
Associate Professor Roslyn Petelin initiated and designed the award-winning program in Writing, Editing and Publishing at The University of Queensland, and developed the hugely successful international online course WRITE101x: English Grammar and Stlye. She is co-author of The Professional Writing Guide and Professional Communication, and consults extensively to government and other organisations on writing, editing and information design.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This course is for participants aged 18 years and above. If you are accessing the QWC member tickets you may be asked to show proof of membership.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Queensland Writers Centre is located on Level 2 of the State Library of Queensland.
There are several parking and transportation options:
- Parking underneath State Library or Queensland Museum costs $16 per entry.
- There is limited street parking available on Merivale Street, Montague Road and Hope Street at an hourly rate.
- A drop-off point is located on the ring road outside SLQ, next to the bus stops.
- The Cultural Precinct BusWay and South Brisbane Train Station are a short walk from State Library.
What can I bring into the event?
You can bring either pen and paper or a laptop along with you to write with. If you do bring a laptop, please remember to bring a power adaptor if necessary.
The venue runs quite a cool air-conditioning system so we advise bringing a jacket, jumper or cardigan with you.

What's the refund policy?
If Queensland Writers Centre cancels an event, we will try to reschedule it for a later date. If we cannot reschedule the event, or if you are unable to attend on the amended date, your payment will be refunded in full.
