Event Information
About this Event
Arts psychotherapy is a gentle yet powerful means to connect with self, express emotion, gain insight, solve problems and discover strategies in better handling life. In short, art reveals and heals.
You’re invited to attend 'Anxiety in Uncertain Times'
This is a 4-week Group Arts Psychotherapy course, for self-care, discovery and personal growth.
Without a doubt, the fall-out of the Covid19 pandemic is taking a heavy toll on our mental health and wellbeing. While anxious feelings are a perfectly natural and understandable response, they do not feel good mentally, emotionally or physically and this can be tricky to navigate on a day to day basis. But we are not powerless. There are definite things we can do to help ourselves feel better, more settled and regulated, even on the most wobbly of days.
Through uniquely designed art therapy directives based on up-to-date neuro-physiology, this program will help you:
Explore the body/mind connection and its impact on your mental health.
Identify personal resources/strategies to help contain and stabilise big, runaway feelings.
Discover the wisdom of your body.
Restore a connection to ‘Self’.
Gain awareness of your personal neural response patterns to stress & overwhelm (triggers) and how to navigate beyond them.
Recognise biological cues, both in and around you, and ways to restore a calmer and more hopeful outlook.
Imagine finally understanding your anxiety!
The implications are a game-changer in terms of helping ourselves feel better.
The best part is, while some art materials will be used thought the sessions, NO ARTISTIC ABILITY or previous experience with art therapy is required.
