Event description

Description

We invite you to participate in our Social Robots in Healthcare Workshop to be held from 9am on Thursday 20th July. We are bringing together stakeholders from outside and within QUT to look at developing programs of healthcare related research that might benefit from QUT's access to the humanoid robotics platform, Pepper by Softbank Robotics.

The workshop will bring together and showcase QUT's expertise in this area. We hope that the workshop will lead to new funding opportunities.

An agenda for the workshop is available below. For further information please contact us.

This workshop is free however registration is required. Complimentary lunch will be provided.

The Australian Centre for Robotic Vision is headquartered at QUT and brings together Australia’s top researchers in computer vision and robotics to lead the world in robotic vision research. Robotic vision is the key technology that will allow social robots to be able to interact safely with people and help to innovate health services. We are currently working on a $1.5 million social robotics research program funded by the State Government’s Advance Queensland initiative involving collaboration with ST Solutions Australia (STSA), SoftBank Corp’s subsidiary.
