What do careers in Business, Commerce and Economics actually involve?

Get answers to these questions and more at our, "So You Love Business & Commerce? What Careers Can I Pursue?" event and panel on Thursday 20th of September at 7:30pm!

We're bringing in a panel of career professionals, from investment banking, finance, accounting, marketing and entrepreneurs who have all pursued their love of Business and Commerce to develop varied and interesting careers!

They will share their experiences and insights including:

  • A day in the life of their career - what their career actually involves!
  • The opportunities that exist in the future for students thinking about studying Business/Commerce at university
  • The challenges that exist in their career and how you can navigate these on your own journey
  • How studying Business and Commerce subjects has made a difference for them in their career
  • The key things on their career journey that have made the biggest difference for them
  • What would they do differently if they were now in Year 11-12, given what they know from their professional experience in their industry?
  • What can you do at high school and university to create the most opportunities for yourself in these careers?
  • And lots more!

Panellists

Christophe Denoux

Christophe has over 20 years experience in finance and management in London and Australia at bnp paribas, citi group, as Managing Director of Bear Stearns, and currently as Global Head of Credit Trading at Westpac. At Westpac, Chris leads a team of 12 traders across London, Singapore, Auckland and Sydney.

Chris also is the founder of environmental solutions business, Hungry Giant Recycling and Waste Management which specialises in end-to-end service for businesses wanting to outsource their waste management, enabling them to focus on core activities. Operating throughout Australia, our purpose is to divert as much waste as possible from landfill to cut businesses waste bills.

Warren Jacobson

Warren is currently the Managing Director of Study Group Australasia. Study Group is a leading international provider of preparatory programmes for Higher Education courses, Career Education and English language programmes.

Warren was also the CEO of Kaplan Professional, the leading provider of professional education in Australia to the financial services, tax and accounting and real estate sectors.

Warren commenced his career with global chartered-accounting firm Arthur Anderson, and holds an Master of Business Administration (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Managemen, a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of Technology, Sydney and has been admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.

Arani Satgunaseelan

Arani is the co-founder of Vollardian a fast-growing end-to-end management consulting firm with a focus on strategy and activation.

Prior to this, Arani was a Senior Manager in Seller Strategy & Operations at eBay and worked in Investment Banking with Macquarie Group.

Arani has a Bachelor of Commerce/Law (Hons) Majoring in Finance and Economics from Melbourne University.
