Sensory processing plays a significant role in how children experience, interact with and respond to their environments. For autistic and neurodivergent children, sensory input can strongly influence behaviour, participation, learning and emotional wellbeing in early childhood settings.
This workshop provides Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) professionals with a clear and practical overview of sensory processing, helping educators better understand children’s sensory needs and how these may present in everyday routines and play.
What you’ll learn:
✔ What sensory processing is and why it matters in early childhood
✔ How sensory differences may present in ECEC environments
✔ Recognising sensory preferences and sensitivities in young children
✔ Practical ways to support children’s sensory needs within daily routines
This session is ideal for Early Childhood Educators, Room Leaders, Centre Directors, Support Staff and anyone working in early learning environments seeking to strengthen inclusive practice.
