The Smoothwall Accredited Web Filter Operator course covers all areas needed to be able to manage an already installed Smoothwall Secure Web Gateway system.

The course covers the following areas:

  • A complete in depth overview of all the policy types available on the Secure Web Gateway.
  • How to apply web filter permissions based on username, time and location.
  • How to map Active Directory groups to the Secure Web Gateway and confirm users are being placed in the correct group.
  • Troubleshooting techniques for web filter policies.
  • How to run reports based on the available templates, how to amend those templates to fit your requirements better as well as create new reports from scratch.
  • How to implement proxy settings in browsers and devices.
  • How to troubleshoot proxy settings and troubleshooting tips for proxy configuration.

These are all the skills required to become a Smoothwall Web filter operator - after taking this course you will be able to understand the web filter process better and troubleshoot any issues related to the web filter policies.

It is recommended to have a test system available when taking this course. After each lesson there are some review questions - please go through these questions before proceeding to the next lesson.

The Smoothwall Certified Web Filter Engineer course covers installation, design and setup of proxy policies on the Secure Web Gateway system.
