ABOUT:

In a recent national IGPA/Telstra survey 74 percent of Australians agreed that “Governments should nudge the public towards making choices for their own good”. But how can this be done in such a way that you ensure the integrity of government? Gerry Stoker, a leading international thinker on the use of behavioural insights in designing and delivering public policy and co-author of the best-selling book “Nudge, Nudge – Think, Think” (Bloomsbury) presents his latest research findings with Peter John on what works. Drawing on field research conducted with the British government in the United Kingdom (UK), Stoker and John identify the lessons from the UK for next generation policy-making. This conversation is a must for those interested in improving the quality of public policy outcomes for Australian citizens.
