smalltown with Dixon (4hrs), Mano Le Tough & Recondite Live
Sat. 19 March 2016, 12:00 pm – 10:00 pm AEDT
There is no better feeling than knowing that we are about to drop an event that will make you swoon. It never gets old. Towards the end of last year smalltown invited you to the races to join us with Ben Klock, Nina Kraviz and Bicep. It was a truly glorious affair dripping with pounding techno and satisfying house. The Caulfield Race Course never looked better. The Funktion One’s never sounded crisper, and the dancefloor heaved harder than ever before.
It’s time to get the band back together. Once again smalltown is looking to embrace you.
Dixon (GER) 4hrs.
Mano Le Tough (IRE)
Recondite (live) (GER)
+ support lineup TBA
- Dixon (4hrs)
When Dixon entered the Berlin club circuit in the early 90’s, he established his name on the strength of his DJ-ing alone. His early residencies are now regarded as clubland legend as it was there where he honed his immaculate mixing skills week in and week out. Later on in his career, his mix compilations went on to become the most popular and influential ever, and as part-owner and member of the Innervisionscollective, he has helped shaped the global scene with an emotive and introspective sound that is not shy to add a bit of spice to any dancefloor. As evident by his number one placing on RA’s Top DJ poll last year (making him number one three years in a row), there is no doubt that Dixon is currently clubland's apex predator, and a prime example of an artist at the top of his game. Dixon will be playing an extended 4 hour set at the upcoming smalltown. soundcloud.com/dixon
- Mano Le Tough
Over the past few years, Mano Le Tough has become one of the shooting stars of the international dance music scene. His impact has been so great that Kristian Beyer of Âme claimed recently in an interview that: “Thanks to Mano Le Tough, I have no fears forthe future of house”. And not just Beyer, the entire Innervisions gang, including Âme and Dixon have become fervent supporters of Mano Le Tough’s warm and melodic, yet driving sound. Towards the end of 2015 the Irishman released his sophomore album, 'Trails', a release widely considered as his most accomplished to date - and he once again secured a Top 20 placing in Resident Advisor's' 2015 Top DJ poll. soundcloud.com/manoletough
A longtime collector of music, Recondite had his first experience with drum machines and hardware synths just a few years ago in a small studio next to the forest in lower Bavaria. It wasn’t long after that he moved to Berlin to build up Plangent Records, where the artist rapidly established his name. Now he is part of the Dystopian crew which boasts luminaries such Rødhåd, Vril and Ø [Phase], and after a number 2 placing in RA’s 2015 Top Live acts poll, Recondite can easily lay claim to be one of the most popular live techno acts on the planet. soundcloud.com/recondite_music
