- Sessions will ensure you feel confident in meeting your practice competencies for registration, and cover complex topics related to practice.
Description
This small group supervision session offers psychologists a reflective and supportive space to deepen their understanding of cultural competence in clinical practice. Participants will explore how culture, identity, and lived experience shape engagement, communication, assessment, and intervention.
Through case discussion and guided reflection, the session encourages clinicians to recognise their own cultural lens, strengthen culturally safe practices, and build confidence in working effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
This session addresses APS competencies relevant to clinical practice:
- Ethical, Legal, and Professional Matters
- Cultural and Social Diversity
- Communication and Interpersonal Relationships
- Reflective Practice and Professional Supervision
- Intervention Strategies and Treatment Planning
Outcome
Participants will enhance their ability to deliver culturally safe and inclusive psychological services while reflecting on their own biases, values, and frameworks. They will gain practical tools to adapt interventions and strengthen engagement with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Your Supervisor: Twinkle Garg
Twinkle is an experienced Registered Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents, adults, families and parents. Twinkle also has a special interest in the area of neurodiversity.
