Small Dreams | Exhibition Opening Night
Date and time
Small Dreams is interested in the limits of our perception and an appreciation of the laborious and technical effort of the miniature genre.
About this event
Small Dreams invites the viewer to look closely, pause and consider. What are the small things that have shaped your life? What are the small dreams yet to come? Curated by Liza Feeney, the exhibition brings together twelve artists from across Australia - Barbara Ryman, Camille Gillybœuf, Catriona Secker, Christel van der Laan, Claire Welch, Kendal Murray, Kirrily Anderson, Lucy Chetcuti, Renée French, Shaelene Murray, Sue Lovegrove, Viktor Kalinowski – exploring what is means to engage carefully, attentively and be intimate with a work and artistic practice.
Spanning object, drawing, watercolour and painting the exhibition examines the material and conceptual interplay and potentialities of micro perspectives, investigating the minute details and what it means to slow down and observe the overlooked.
Interested in the limits of our perception and an appreciation of the laborious and technical effort of the miniature genre, Small Dreams invites the viewer to look closely; how does one capture that feeling of smallness, something ethereal and delicate?
