Introducing SIRENS OF BRISBANE
A night dedicated to showcasing and celebrating Brisbane’s finest female artists or female fronted bands, it’s time for the gals to shine.
There are so many amazing female musicians in Brisbane doing incredible things in the Australian music industry, and we at TEMPEST PRODUCTIONS believe these women should be celebrated and supported. Come and enjoy the musical goodness that these iconic women provide.
For our first ever SIRENS OF BRISBANE, we have EVANGIE, OH BAILEY and TIARNE.
Introducing EVANGIE
Channelling the ferocity of female-fronted indie rockers Jess Day and Paramore, an air of glittering nostalgia and charming honesty surrounds this Brisbane indie-rock goddess, EVANGIE. Coming off the back of her BIGSOUND performance and hitting #3 on the Triple J Unearthed charts overall and #1 on the indie and rock genre charts with her debut single "JAPAN", EVANGIE is here to stay. Evangie fearlessly cries emotion into every one of her songs, transporting audiences with her expressive, yet vulnerable vocals. Her sound is crafted with painfully honest lyrics infused with catchy melodies and hooks. If heartbreak has a sound – it’s captured wholly in Evangie’s emotive storytelling, connecting with those who relate to her lyrics.
Discussing topics of loneliness and feeling different to those around you, "JAPAN' is a song filled with emotion and angst and will take listeners on an emotional journey, capturing their attention for its entire length.
Joined by her four-piece band infused with searing guitar solos, underlying bass grooves and driving drum beats, it’s only a matter of time before Evangie makes her indelible mark on the indie-rock scene.
Introducing OH BAILEY
Emerging artist Jessica Elliott, the powerhouse behind the Oh Bailey project, has been flying high since her debut release Free Fall in early 2020. Creating her own sound from a hybrid of icons, Oh Bailey draws influence from artists Maggie Rogers, The 1975 and The Japanese House. Writing from her heart with tenderly truthful lyrics, dreamy synths, glitchy electronic bliss, and hypnotising guitar melodies, Oh Bailey brings all seasons to her sound. Written and co-produced by Oh Bailey herself, her newest single TAMAGOTCHI has received waves of attention, including her first single launch sold out at the Black Bear Lodge.
Introducing TIARNE
Indie/pop songstress Tiarne is a Brisbane based singer/songwriter. Inspired by the stories of family and those around her, Tiarne blends her folk-like lyrics with her electronica production and organic instruments. Marking her debut in 2017 with lead single ‘Kids’, Tiarne climbed the Triple J Unearthed charts and gained immediate Unearthed rotation. 2020 is set to be an exciting year for Tiarne as she prepares for multiple releases, collaborations and performances.
Come celebrate these talented ladies making waves in the Brisbane music scene, it will be an epic night and start of something great for woman of the music industry.
