Let's Sing & Grow together!

Sing & Grow is a community driven music therapy program that provides services for young children and their families.

Programs focus on strengthening family relationships, building capacity in parents to support their children's development in the early years of life, and encouraging the use of music within communities.

Throughout August and September 2017, Sing & Grow will be delivering three FREE specialised workshops for parents and children to enjoy at Yanchep Community Centre and Alikmos Pop Up Library. You can register online here, or over the phone by calling 9561 2039.

Topic - Social Skills

Musical activities can make the learning of social skills more enjoyable, while providing the structure that children need.


Thursday 14 September // 1.30pm til 2.30pm

Topic - Calming, Consistency and Sleeping

Music can be an effective way to help you child wind down and can also healp the relax and sleep. Consistency and routine, responses and modelling will help your child learn what is socially acceptable and heighten their sense of security with you.

Topic - Language Skills

Singing can help young children to develop their language skills and encourage the to communicate from a very early age.

Topic - Social Skills

Musical activities can make the learning of social skills more enjoyable, while providing the structure that children need.


Thursday 21 September // 9.00am til 11.00am

Topic - Behavioural Redirection

Learn to use new musical techniques to help redirect your child's behaviour.



Free One-on-One Music Therapy Sessions are also available upon request at Yanchep Community Centre!

Music therapy is a research-based practice and profession in which music is used to actively support people as they strive to improve their health, functioning and wellbeing (Australian Music Therapy Association Inc.). Music therapists are required to complete a minimum of 4 years tertiary training and have expertise in at least 3 instruments, in addition to studying aspects of mental health, sociology, psychology, gerontology, paediatrics and special education.
