Silk & Bamboo: Ensemble Concert for Lunar New Year
Overview
Be transported by the beautiful sounds of traditional Chinese instruments in this educational performance. Hear skilled musicians play the erhu, dizi and yangqin, and learn about their rich history, in celebration of Lunar New Year. This concert will be performed by members of the CASS Art Troupe Ensemble and presented in partnership with the Chinese Australian Services Society.

ABOUT THE CASS ART TROUPE ENSEMBLE:
Mr. Shiping Zang has been playing music for nearly forty years. In China, he studied music at Henan University, performed with a professional ensemble, and taught music at a middle school. His main instrument is the yangqin.
Mr. Zhenlin Jiang began learning the erhu from a young age and graduated in 1982 from the Music Department of Harbin Normal University, majoring in erhu performance.
Mr. Funan Zuo has loved music since childhood. He has played the erhu, violin and bamboo flute (dizi) over the years.
