Event description

Description

Dr Roslyn Russell – Roslyn Russell Museum Services

Roslyn's involvement with collection assessment goes back to the mid-1990s, when she was one of the authors of the first General Guidelines to Safeguard Documentary Heritage for UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme. Roslyn is co-author, with Kylie Winkworth, of Significance 2.0: A Guide to Assessing the Significance of Collections. The work remains the authoritative text on significance assessment and collection management strategies.

In this workshop, presenter Roslyn Russell will explore how to safeguard heritage resources by assessing collectionsagainst a standard set of criteria; how to research and analysis to define meaning and cultural value and how this information is useful in advocating for their importance to the community.
