Event description

Description

Pack a picnic blanket, load up the kids and head out to the beautiful Bendigo Bank Music Shell for a relaxed afternoon of sweet tunes followed by a movie screening in the park.

Start out the afternoon with original music and relaxed covers of all your favourites with Grant Hart. Grant is a seasoned entertainer, having performed all over the country for more than 30 years, and is a hit with all ages.

Up next is Tim Stokes, currently on tour from Byron Bay. He is a big-hearted man with a pocket full of songs, reminding us of who we are and what really matters. He is a combination of the swoon of Elvis’ ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love With You’ and the party starter vibe of ‘Dumb Things’ Paul Kelly. Tim Stokes is an artist who’s able to open your heart, expand your mind and get your body grooving with songs that branch the bridges between ages, generations and walks of life. He shares songs sewn with hope, love and light, reminding us the “cracks are there for the light to shine in.

Finishing up the music segment of the afternoon is Jordan McRobbie with soul-infused folk rock with ethereal soundscapes and virtuosic guitars. Originally from Fremantle, Jordan is known for his virtuosic ability on the 12 and 6 stringed guitars. He's hit the ground running in the early stages of his career, taking out the gong for Blues/Roots Song of the Year at the WAM Awards, as well as supported high profile acts such as Fat Freddy's Drop and Mat McHugh (The Beautiful Girls) and performed sets at The Woodford, Nannup and Fairbridge music festivals.

As the sun sets, settle back for a screening of the popular Hunt for the Wilderpeople, the heart-warming story of a defiant young city kid who finds himself on the run with his cantankerous foster uncle in the wild New Zealand bush. A national manhunt ensues, and the two are forced to put aside their differences and work together to survive in this hilarious and heartfelt adventure.

There's lots to keep the kids occupied, with bouncy castles, face painting, giant yard games and a visit from the Bendigo Bank Piggy.

Make it a night off for everyone, with food and drinks available for purchase in the park. Pre-ordered cheese platters from the Collie Art Gallery will be available for pick up on the day.

This FREE event is proudly made possible by the customers of the Collie Community Bank branch of the Bendigo Bank. Drop into the branch on Forrest St or phone 9734 7411 for more information.
