Did you know that out of the 180 species of sharks in Australian waters only four species are dangerous to humans. Sharks occur in all habitats around the Australian coast line and are mostly found on the continental shelf. Did you know that Grey Nurse sharks have their own sanctuary at Magic Point, Maroubra and that these twin-finned sharks are harmless to humans yet critically endangered.
With many Australians concerned about the risk of shark attacks, marine biologist Dr Alexandra Campbell will share current research and her expert insights into this impassioned and important field of study and help our community be more informed about these often feared fish in our oceans and estuaries. Great ‘shark’ prizes to be won.
