Description

This Sexual Health and Intimacy session is designed for health professionals and those working with clients with Acquired Brain Injuries and other disabilities.

The content will focus on increasing knowledge about the importance of intimacy and sexual relationships as well as focussing on increasing staff confidence to initiate sexual health conversations and provide better person-centred care.

This session will also include some content about dealing with sexual assault disclosure.

Presenter:
Anita Brown-Major
is an Occupational Therapist who is passionate about educating health professions to recognise that all clients are sexual beings. Anita has worked extensively in subacute rehabilitation and currently splits her time between an inpatient rehabilitation unit and Thrive Rehab. She has completed extensive research into the importance of addressing sexuality for people with disabilities.
