Event description
Learn to Sew Your Own Jeans in a weekend workshop of sewing and fun.

About this Event

An exciting 2 1/2 day intensive Jeans making workshop - A weekend sewing holiday!

Friday October 23rd, 5-7.30pm

Saturday 24th 9am - 5pm

Sunday 25th 10am - 6pm.

Learn how to sew your own jeans in a two and a hlaf day workshop using the Ginger Jeans pattern from Closet Case Patterns – a high-rise skinny jean made with stretch denim.

During the workshop you will learn everything you need to know to make yourself a pair of cool high rise skinny leg jean using stretch denim. You will learn how to choose the correct size, topstitching techniques, overlocked seam finishes, an easy fly-front zipper, and installing fun bits and bobs like rivets and fly buttons.

The cost of the workshop includes lunch on both full days, wine and cheese on Friday and Saturday evening, plus over 19 hours of sewing instruction!

This class is all about learning how to construct jeans and although we won’t be getting too involved with pants fitting techniques we will cover basic flat pattern alterations and minor fitting adjustments.

On Friday we will meet and greet at 5pm and start to determine sizes, make any small alterations to the pattern and cut the pattern out. Finishing at 7.30pm with a nice glass of wine.

Saturday we meet again at 9am with our patterns cut out and ready for fabric cutting. Lunch at the very popular Hanoi Hannah is included as well as some afternoon tea and we will sew until 6 pm. Relax with a glass of wine to finish the day!

Starting (with a little sleep in) at 10am on Sunday we will continue on with our jeans making. Sushi lunch is provided and we will sew until you finish your jeans! Stick around for some photos and a glass of champagne to celebrate the making of your awesome Ginger Jeans.
