Description

Supporting an individual on the autism spectrum can be challenging and rewarding. This workshop recognises the unique role that SSO’s and ESO’s play within the educational sector. This workshop covers a range of topics including-

  • Understanding the Autism Spectrum

  • The Unique Role of Support Staff

  • Best Teaching Strategies when working 1:1, in small groups and supporting in the classroom

  • Enhancing Communication

  • Increasing Social Understanding

  • Reducing Complex Behaviour

  • Addressing Sensory Needs

  • And how to look after your own needs on the job!

This workshop also allows time for participants to share their ideas and successes on the job and to network with other support staff to problem solve current concerns.
