Setting the scene for the Scheme: An introduction to the NDIS for providers
Thu. 27 April 2017, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm AEST
Is your region rolling into the NDIS in 2018? If so, NDS is coming to your part of Victoria very soon and invite you to register for: 'Setting the Scene for the Scheme: an introduction to the NDIS for providers'.
Who should attend?
These events are specifically designed to provide disability sector employees with limited exposure to the NDIS to date, to provide an introduction to the NDIS. It is not designed for people with disability or providers who have already engaged with other NDIS readiness and implementation activities.
By attending, you'll learn:
- What the NDIS means for service providers
- What action you can take now to prepare your organisation for transition
- Lessons from areas already operating under the NDIS
Parts of Victoria have up to four years of experience operating within a NDIS environment and NDS has been 'on the ground', providing support throughout this period. In doing so we've worked alongside providers with readiness and implementation activities and assisted with business strategies, objectives and processes to be ready for the upcoming changes. We look forward to sharing key insights and hearing your questions.
When is the right time to get ready for the NDIS?
NDS, with funding support through the Victorian Government's Sector Transition Fund, has been working extensively with service providers in the lead up to and through early transition to the NDIS. Our transition support intensifies six months prior to the roll out in each region, however six months is too late to start getting ready. Therefore we strongly encourage those providers transitioning in 2018 to attend these roadshows, in order to commence early transition work and to hear more about the additional support available to you through NDS' Sector Transition Project.
