Join us online for the Healthy Tasmania Listen and Learn Series.

About this Event

Be part of the conversation about how to make Tasmanians Australia’s healthiest population by 2025.

Join Healthy Tasmania and Leigh Arnold for a six-part series covering six different topics. Each session is free and will include:

• local insights from specialist presenters

• question and answer sessions

• in-depth group discussions

• practical learnings you can use to promote health and wellbeing.

Session five: Telling your story

Storytelling is powerful for connecting humans and creating change. Learn more about why telling stories matters, different approaches for creating compelling stories, and tips for crafting your own stories.

• Yvette Hufschmidt: Healthy Tasmania Project Officer, Public Health Services will discuss the importance of storytelling, and ways you can gather and present your stories.

• Diane Rawlings: Education Leader, King Island Childcare and Early Learning Centre will talk about capturing the story of their Growing Healthy Children on King Island project.

• Rebecca Essex: Health Promotion Coordinator, Tasmanian Health Service will consider the role of storytelling in programs and share the ‘Inspiring Stories’ approach.

Recordings of each session will be available online after each event. To help us make this an engaging event please leave your video camera on during the session and participate through asking questions and breakout discussions.

• All sessions will be recorded and shared online via the Healthy Tasmania website and other Department of Health Tasmania media channels. By registering to attend this event you are accepting that your participation may appear as part of these recordings.

• ‘Healthy Tasmania’ is a part of research being undertaken by the Australian Prevention Partnership Centre into how prevention is funded. These recordings will be made available to the research team following the sessions.

• Organisations and individuals presenting as part of this series will not gain any advantage in relation to the Healthy Tasmania Fund Round 2, should they choose to apply. Presenters were approached prior to the opening of the Healthy Tasmania Fund Round 2.
