Event description
On behalf of our Animal Emergency Service Jindalee team, we would like to invite you and your team to join us for our Ultrasound seminar.

About this event

Focused ultrasonography is the best way to learn how to use your ultrasound. It is the stepping stone to complete abdominal ultrasounds. It helps gain exposure to what is normal, then eventually enable identification of pathology. Lung ultrasound can be used as a supplement to standard x-rays for assessing for chest pathology and assist in the interpretation of radiographic findings. This session we combine theory and hands-on practice to give you the best introduction to using ultra sound in your practice.

This session covers:

  • Basic optimisation of the ultrasound image
  • Identification of free fluid in the abdomen and fluid/pathology in the lungs
  • Format of the 'Global FAST', an 11 point focused scan of abdomen and chest
  • Use and interpretation of abdominal fluid scoring in the management of haemoabdomen
  • Lung ultrasound, what is it and how to interpret it
  • Ultrasound guided techniques

There will also be ample opportunity to ask any question you have, and drinks and nibbles will be provided.
