Description

AGM for AARES ACT Branch will be from 5:30, with seminar starting at 6pm

Abstract: The presentation will look at the three key drivers of the next global transformation: the Anthropocene, digitalisation, and globalisation. It will review what these drivers might result in over the next 30 years and identify possible implications for socio-economic policy in Australia and elsewhere.

Bio: Quentin Grafton is Professor of Economics at the Australian National University’s Crawford School of Public Policy, and President of the Australasian Agricultural & Resource Economics Society. He is Chairholder of the UNESCO Chair in Water Economics and Transboundary Water Governance, Director of the Centre for Water Economics, Environment and Policy (CWEEP), and a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. He was previously Chief Economist and Executive Director of the Australian Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics (2011–2013). He currently serves as the Director of the Food, Energy, Environment and Water (FE2W) Network, is Editor-in-Chief of Policy Forum.net, and is Executive Editor of the Global Water Forum.
