Event description

Description

Please join the Murdoch School of Education for a seminar presented by Early Childhood consultant with LEAP Education, Denise Ansingh, about the benefits of choosing a play-based pedagogy that includes outdoor spaces.

Denise will discuss how play-based pedagogy, that includes the outdoor environment, can provide for child-initiated and planned play opportunities and intentional teaching across a range of learning areas. She will also share how the wellbeing and enjoyment in learning of her Pre-primary children at Hawker Park Primary School was enhanced with the discovery and involvement in Nature School. Choosing a nature and play-based pedagogy is a choice to be responsive to children and encourage curiosity and learning. It is a choice to provide an environment which supports children’s agency, allows them to move, interact, be creative, extend language, gain knowledge, and develop life skills.
