About this Event
“When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.”
We are delighted to a series of online self-care sessions, hosted by Lynzey May, returned veteran and mental health advocate. Over the course of each one hour session, Lynzey will, together with the group, explore different area of self-care that can be beneficial to both your life and your caring role.
17th November - Week 1: Physical – Movement and sleep
We’ll explore different ways to care for our physical health, including some physical movement and looking at our sleep
24th November - Week 2: Emotional – Boundaries and rituals
Caring for our emotional needs is extremely important by helping to identifying and honoring our emotions. We will explore how setting boundaries can help manage stress, take care of your health and your relationships. We will also look at different rituals that can be added to our normal day.
1st December - Week 3: Intellectual – Journaling and time
Intellectual is about being responsible for our own self-care. We will explore how we can take this responsibility by using different techniques like journaling and how we can look at our days to ensure we commit to some time for our self-care
8th December - Week 4: Social – Friendship and groups
Who we spend time around is just as important for our self-care as the things we do for ourselves. During this session we will explore how the people we are around can affect us and how we can manage this.
Lynzey encourages discussion and welcomes your questions and concerns as her goal is for every participant to leave with a self-care tool you can apply with ease.
Self-care isn't selfish and by the end of each session, it is Lynzey's intention that you will believe her.
Please note these workshops are only open to carers. Please register for each session you are interested in attending.
