Description

Seed Saving Workshop with Horticulturist Neville Donovan of Greenpatch Organic Seeds

Let’s talk seeds! Why it’s important to save seeds from vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruiting plants and how you can start preserving vital heirloom genetics for future generations.

This workshop includes practical ways on how to save seeds, how to keep seeds pure by isolation along with techniques such as bagging, caging and hand pollination. We'll also cover when to harvest seed, plant families, pollination and selection, seed cleaning for wet and dry seeds and how to easily store seeds at home.

This workshop is a joint initiative of Belmont Neighbourhood Centre and Lake Macquarie Council
