Spring represents a new birth and growth, and a time to refresh the mind and body. During Winter we nurture the yin aspect and the kidneys and now we move into the season of activity and upward movement. Spring is the season associated with the Liver and Gallbladder and a time when our energy begins to loosen up and start moving up and out of the body. During Spring we nurture the ‘Wood’ element and conditions that support growth as ‘Young Yang’ energy begins to gradually build and rise within.
It is important during spring, to cleanse the liver and lungs and to bring a balance among them, nurturing the descending qi of the lungs and the ascending young yang and qi of the liver. Spring is the ideal time for cleansing and rejuvenation for overall health and well-being.
