Event description

Description

Nettie Lodge presents a Master class for creating narrative imagery in conjunction with her exhibition THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT MARINER at The Manly Art Gallery Nov 3 – Dec 3 2017.

Narrative image making is the art of telling stories visually. Illustrating a narrative text creates a subtext for words while communicating and orchestrating an emotional response and enhancing the duplicity of words and imagery.

This master class is designed to facilitate perceptual, imaginative and technical skills to illustrate a story, a personal prose, a poem, a book cover, a children’s book, an essay, or a personal narrative project based on the subject: SEA.

During the workshop, Nettie will guide the participants through the steps, techniques and imaginative processes necessary to create and illustrate an individual narrative text, tailored to the specific style and needs of each participant following creative experimenting with a range of mediums.
