Steve Saville:

Steve is a passionate scuba diver who has discovered many of our lost historic shipwrecks/fishing vessels in South Australian waters. An underwater videographer, his reach is across the most remote locations and sometimes hostile waters, returning with video footage of discoveries and never seen before marine habitats.

Steve has worked collaboratively with government and not for profit agencies and has been recognised for his knowledge and research into shipwrecks of South Australia. Some of his works has travelled Nationally with the Australian Museum Submerged project and he’s presented as a guest speaker at regional meeting of SA Museums.

Steve recently held a memorial dinner commemorating the loss of the ST Nyora and many of its crew in 1917. One of the shipwrecks he researched & discovered, Steve brought together descendants for the occasion.

Dean Spraakman:

Dean Spraakman is a PADI Divemaster. He manages Sea Dragon film and photo and its Facebook page which has nearly 2500 followers and growing. In the last 18 months Dean started taking underwater photography more seriously. He discovered a love for videography, especially macro videography. After a steep learning curve in his first year shooting footage Dean’s work was featured in the inaugural ‘Underwater South Australia’ exhibition. Dean then went on to win a monthly video competition. Through these processes Dean learnt a lot. In his second year Dean won 3 categories in the Neville Coleman Nudibranch Memorial photo competition. Dean has sold a significant amount of footage to a small documentary company. Dean has just returned from Lembeh, Indonesia where he was commissioned to shoot for a resort. Dean is married to Melissa and they have baby Skylah.
