Got an idea for a screenplay? Is there a script gathering dust in a bottom drawer? Interested in how your script might become an actual movie? Do you want to be part of the growth of the film industry in the Riverina?

Then ScriptLab is for you.

The first workshop would be focussed on the elements of scriptwriting and contain hands-on writing tasks. The laboratory will also provide practical information on pathways for project development in NSW. The second workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to have their writing critiqued by industry professionals to further develop the work.

Registration for ScriptLab will be $250 inc GST.

FAQs

Who is this for?

ScriptLab is aimed at emerging and early career scriptwriters connected to the Riverina. So you might have written a short film. studied scriptwriting, had a script produced, or have written something but not sure where to go next. 'Emerging' may also include writers who haven't considered the screenplay but would have the potential to develop as screenwriters

I have never written a screenplay, should I still express my interest?

Yes, but it would be expected that you have a strong passion for the screen, and have creative writing you can show us

I don't live in the Riverina, should i still express my interest?

Yes, but you need to tell us what your connection to the Riverina is.  Did you grow up here? Did you study here? Have you got an idea for a screenplay set in the Riverina

I would like to attend but don't think I can afford it. Is there any assistance?

Eastern Riverina Arts have a limited number of bursaries available for those who reside in a member LGA and  for whom the cost of travel or Lab fee would be extremely prohibitive.

Do I have to pay now?

No.  You will be notified if your expression of interest was successful and then we will arrange for your payment. A deposit of $50 will be required on acceptance of place, with the remainder due at least 14 days before the workshop. Don't worry, we will remind you.

Why do I have to do an expression of interest?

Places in this workshop are limited to 10 people only. We think the workshop will be of great interest and we want to ensure that we get a really good mix of committed writers in the room.

When will I find out if my expression of interest is successful?

You will find out before Christmas no later than 23rd December

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
