Screens, Science and Setting Limits
Overview
Join Us for Screens, Science and Setting Limits!
An online live webinar with Play Therapist and Early Childhood Specialist Rachel Seiler.
As parents, how much are we sick of the shaming and influx of information about what to do and what not to do around screens in our home? I know that families in my personal life and in clinic are sick of the juggle and decision-making around it all.
So pour a cuppa, let’s chill on a Friday night, and just have a brief rundown of what we actually need to know. So much research on early childhood development and neuroscience has been released recently on the impacts these screens are having on our kids — so what are we “meant” to do about it? What do we want to do about it? How do we want our homes to run when it comes to screens and meltdowns when our little people (or big teens) don't get their own way?
Together this evening will be a rundown of the recent research, what we now know in terms of neuroscience, and what our options are in terms of setting limits at home and regulating ourselves through the limits that we are choosing to stick to.
The information will be relevant to new parents wondering how this looks as their children enter daycare and the primary school years, in making decisions early on about how they want this all to look, as well as evidence and developmental information about the risks/benefits and challenges in adolescent years.
This is a live Zoom with Rach from All Kids Counselling.
