Event description
Key Creatives are the imagination custodians of our screen industry - 'Create Well' will help to strengthen their creative minds.

About this Event

This session will be customised to help support the wellbeing of key creatives in the screen sector. Writers, directors, editors, composers, and producers often spend many hours a week creating in isolation, sometimes on passion projects for years which can be harmful to wellbeing. Challenges such as; identity, imposter syndrome, rejection, self worth/self critic, expectations, vicarious trauma, and definitions of success and failure often compound wellbeing issues.

This session aims to provide information, support and skills to strengthen the wellbeing of key creatives so that they can live more fulfilling and connected creative lives.

Partners: Screen Producers Australia, Australian Directors Guild, Australian Writers Guild, Australian Guild of Screen Composers, Australian Screen Editors, Australian Production Design Guild, Australian Guild of Screen Composers

Panellists: Dr Julie Crabtree - psychologist and author, Susan Eldridge - creative business advisor. Moderated by filmmaker Ben Steel.

Attendees are not required to publicly share their personal experiences during the session.

Event financed with the assistance of Screen Australia

The Screen Well wellbeing webinar sessions were created by filmmaker and mental health advocate Ben Steel, in association with Film Art Media, and in collaboration with mental health professionals, the screen guilds, unions, and interests groups. The event builds on the highly successful Wellness Roadshow designed in collaboration with Film Art Media and Impact Producer, Diana Fisk which has rolled out nationally since the release of The Show Must Go On documentary in October 2019.
