About this event

Coding with Scratch

For ages 5-8

Cost:      $15

This class is a short introductory class for young kids taking their first steps in coding. Children don’t need any coding experience, but should know how to work their devices. Children will make simple animated stories using drag and drop visual block coding that is ideal for prereaders.

Requirements:

  1.  A tablet with Scratch Jr installed
  2. Access to Zoom*
  3. Access to the website https://scratch.mit.edu

Optional:

  1. Scratch account - Please note that if your child does not have an account, they can still do the course, but will not be able to save their work and if there are any connectivity issues, their work will be lost. You can sign up for a free Scratch account at https://scratch.mit.edu/
  2. 2 monitors or 2 devices. This makes it easier for children to move between their Scratch program and the Zoom session.

*Zoom link details will be sent closer to the session date.
