Dr Sandy Tirtey
The Queensland Branch of the Royal Aeronautical Society will be hosting Dr Sandy Tirtey for an opportunity presentation on his recent work as he will be in Brisbane this coming week.
In August 2013, Sandy presented on the then upcoming Scramspace Program hypersonic flight test in Norway. As the Technical Lead Sandy gave an in-depth insight into the aims of the test and the goals of hypersonic flight for the University of Queensland. The flight test was ultimately unsuccessful and Sandy will present details on what occurred during the flight and real reasons for failure. Sandy has now moved to Rocket Lab in New Zealand as the Vehicle Lead for their Electron Orbital Vehicle Program. He will also discuss his work with Rocket Lab and how they intend to fundamentally change the way space is approached as a market.
Join us for this unmissable opportunity to learn about the Scramspace mission and leading rocket research and development on Thursday 11 September at 5.30 for a 6pm lecture start, at the Victoria Barracks, Petrie Terrace.
Please RSVP by 1000 Thursday 11 September. Registration is necessary for entry to the Barracks.
