Travel back in time to discover Australia’s ancient past with the Museum’s amazing fossil collection. With resident palaeontologist Jacqueline Nguyen, learn how to identify fossils and hear about what it's like to go on a fossil dig. Find out what fossils can tell us about the lives of ancient animals. Discover Australia's dinosaurs and megafauna and go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Museum's palaeontology collection. Kids get hands-on with real fossils and casts, make their own fossil replica and more!

Date/s: Thu 28 & Fri 29 Sept

Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Note: Scientist for a Day is now longer finishing at 4 PM.

Age: 8 - 12 years

Cost: $105 AM Members; $125 Non-members + Eventbrite booking fee (*Bookings essential)

Meeting Point: Museum Entrance, cnr of William and College Street. Staff will greet group at 9AM.

Special Notes: Make sure you sign your child in and out on arrival and departure.

What to bring:

• Backpack with morning tea and lunch

• Water bottle

• Clothing for outdoors i.e. hat, raincoat, walking shoes, sunscreen as lunch will be in Cook & Philip Park opposite Museum.

No refunds. Transfers need to be made at least 72 hours in advance, subject to availability and AM staff discretion.
