Overview

We'll share some low-tech approaches to create engaging STEM explorations that are accessible for all learners in your classroom.

Aimed at STEM specialists as well as classroom teachers who are incorporating STEM in their classroom.

In this full day workshop, aimed for educators teaching prep-Year 9, run by a neurodivergent scientist and STEM communicator, Dr. Loz, you will explore a range of low-tech materials that you can use to engage all learners in your classroom in more STEM based conversations and investigations, more often.

We will explore how different brains interact with information and learning opportunities and how to ensure that all types of learners in your classroom are able to access these. We'll delve into what helps brains, all types of brains, push learnings into long term memory and then retrieve and apply it when needed.

If you are setting up STEM/Science in your school for the first time, we've got you!!

As participants, you will spend MOST of the day DOING all the things and then take home a showbag of materials so you can take your learnings straight into the classroom. We'll also give you access to loads of worksheets and lesson ideas, all connected to the Vic curriculum or IB units of inquiry.

A sensational lunch will be provided so if you have any dietary requirements, please let us know in advance.

If required we can send an invoice directly to your school for this PD so please email us at admin@scienceplaykids.com.au.

If you have any particular areas of the STEM curriculum you struggle to explore in an engaging way in your classroom, please email and let me know and I will do my best to make sure we cover it in the session.

We can also come to your school to deliver this PD/PL (or one of our other PD topics) to your entire schools teaching staff. Please email admin@scienceplaykids.com.au if you are interested in booking this in.
