The popular science podcast, Science on Top, is proudly celebrating one hundred and fifty episodes! Since March 2011 we’ve been bringing you the latest science news almost every week, and having a lot of fun doing so. And on Saturday 31 May, we’ll be doing it again in front of a live audience!
The night will begin with a talk from Dr. Krystal Evans, a senior post-doctoral research fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne. She is developing a new malaria vaccine, with plans to take the new vaccine into early-stage clinical trials in the next three years. Dr. Evans is the chair of the Australian Academy of Science Early-to-Mid Career Researcher Forum.
Then the Science on Top crew - Ed Brown, Dr. Shayne Joseph, Penny Dumsday and Lucas Randall will take the stage to discuss the latest exciting news from the world of science. And they’ll be joined by planetary scientist currently working at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation, Dr. Helen Maynard-Casely.
Comedian, PhD researcher and science communicator Cobi Smith will be the MC for the evening.
The Village Roadshow Theatrette can be accessed via entry 3, which is located at 179 La Trobe Street.
Doors open at 6:30pm, for a 7pm start!
