Event description

Description

World Science Festival Brisbane and the Queensland Government are proud to present the 2018 Queensland Women in STEM Prize.

This competition supports innovation and collaboration between Queensland women in STEM fields and showcases those inspiring women who are working to benefit Queensland.

Two cash prizes of $5,000 are available to support professional development opportunities.

To assist you with your application and further develop your communication skills, a free targeted training session is provided for applicants.

By the end of the training you will be able to present yourself and your work more effectively. The session provides tips on:

• using plain English

• delivering simple and clear messages

• enhancing your own natural enthusiasm

• improving your confidence.

Light refreshments will be provided.

The event is free but bookings are essential as tickets are limited. If you are no longer able to attend please cancel your ticket.

Everyone who participates in the training is required to submit an entry to the Queensland Women in STEM Prize. Participants in the communications training session associated with the 2017 Queensland Women in STEM Prize are ineligible to attend this year's training session.

For more information about the training session, please phone Alana Tierney, Partnerships Coordinator, World Science Festival Brisbane on 07 3840 7029 or 0433 274 689 or email alana.tierney@qm.qld.gov.au
