Overview

School refusal. Why can attending primary school be so hard for some children and what can you do to support them?

Does your primary school child struggle with school refusal? Attending primary school can sometimes be a tricky experience for children. Your child might feel anxious, overwhelmed and refuse to go to school.

You are invited to join Therapeutic Carer Support Team Lead Clinicians, Kate Hollitt (Clinical Psychologist), and Yanna Tsouvallas (Social Worker) for the 1 hour online discussion of this topic.

They will talk about why your child might struggle with school, the behaviour that you may see, piece together where this might come from and explore what might be helpful to reduce distress and support your child to feel safe and more settled around school.

Please only register if you are a carer. These discussions are specifically for carers however carer support workers may attend together with carers who may need help to access Teams.
