About the workshop
Hackathon
- Our children have been living alongside Covid-19 for over a year now. They temporarily stopped going to school, attending extra-curricular events, and seeing their friends. Zig Zag Hub’s Hackathon is designed to help our young people think about the challenges our community has faced during this time and turn them into beneficial opportunities.
- In one full day, participants will pick a problem related to Covid-19, brainstorm a product, prototype their design and pitch it at the end of the Hackathon. We will be awarding a Winner and Runners-Up for the best pitch.
- This event is suitable for young people in years 5 and 6 who enjoy being creative and using technology.
- Each participant is required to bring their own electronic device and morning tea / lunch as there will be breaks throughout the event.
- Parents are welcome to attend the Pitch Presentations at 3:15 and witness our young people create ways to reduce the impacts of Covid-19 in our local community.
