Description

An exciting workshop on offer in Term 4 only for Stage 2 students on the "Where Does Our Food Come From?".

With the ability to ask important questions about the we eat we can help children make wise food choices that benefit their health, our farmers and our farm and natural environments.

Students will uncover the mystery of where our food comes from by learning how to be smart food shoppers. They will learn about packaging, transportation and the water used to make our food and get it into our shops.

Students will also learn about the practical skill of growing their own food. They will investigate and learn about where to place the garden and what to plant in season. Students will learn, once the garden has been started, how to maintain it, manage insect pests and to improve the soil with composting and mulching.
