Event description

Description

If you’re a clinician in the healthcare sector, are working with clients who struggle with maladaptive behaviour / cognitions and interpersonal problems, and attended our “Schema Therapy - Part I (Fundamental Practices)” training day – then come along and advance your skills with Part II.

Schema Therapy was first developed by Dr. Jeffrey Young as a way to integrate psychodynamic, attachment, and cognitive-behavioural therapies to address certain 'lifetraps' (or schemas) identified within his clientele. Since its introduction nearly forty years ago; Schema Therapy has been a useful modality for addressing longstanding problems of maladaptivity (from intensive intervention to simple self-help), and has itself been adapted and endorsed by clinicians and clients worldwide (including here in Australia).

This workshop will advance your learning from having attended our “Schema Therapy – Part I (Fundamental Practices)” training day on September 5th, and covers the following areas:

- Cognitive and Behavioural Techniques.

- Experiential Techniques.

- Addressing Schema Modes.

- The Therapeutic Relationship.

Those attending will be provided with opportunities to practice techniques in-situ, access to additional resources, as well as lunch and morning / afternoon tea.

Presenter:
Graeme Lamont - MPsych (Clinical)
Clinical Psychologist / Director
