Santamanía Spanish Gin & The Juniper Society Event
Mon. 27 March 2017, 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm AEDT
We’re excited! Santamanía’s Victor Fraile, is coming to Melbourne! Join us for a curated tasting and casual chat about all things Santamanía Gin over some ‘Melbourne Style G&T’s and cocktails with a Spanish twist. Proudly hosted by The Melbourne Juniper Society, Bibendum Wine Company and the Union Electric team.
The Dutch may have invented gin, the British introduced us to tonic, but as the great Alexandre Gabriel says, “Only Spain knows how to make a great Gin and Tonic”.
It has been the Spanish, with their famous tapas culture, who have elevated the humble gin and tonic to a truly engaging drinking experience. While visiting Spain, don’t be surprised if instead of being asked by your bartender what you would like to drink you are asked instead “how do you like your gin and tonic?”. So it makes sense that some of the best gins in the world are now produced in Spain.
Madrid, the energetic capital of Spain and home of the ‘Spanish Gin and Tonic’, is home to Santamanía Distileria Urbana. Santamania is the first distillery to open in Madrid in decades and now produces two of the world’s finest gins, using their signature state-of-the-art copper stills, ‘Lola’ and ‘Vera’, to produce premium spirits of unique character and flavour.
Tickets are $19 per person, which includes gin & tonic on arrival, Santamanía cocktail and light food during a discussion with Victor Fraile from Santamanía.
Only 30 tickets available.
