Beef is the star at this special long lunch at San Telmo


Time Out Melbourne and CBD Argentinean restaurant San Telmo are joining forces to bring you a long lunch celebrating the wonderful protein that is beef on July 22.

Saddle up at the table and get ready to work your way through an Argentinean influenced meaty menu devised by head chef Stephen Clark. You'll enjoy seven courses that showcase different beef cuts, marbling, cooking styles and feeding methods.

Start with a tartare of O’Connor dry aged with Jerusalem artichoke chips, followed by a carpaccio of Sevens Creek Wagyu chuck with roasted pepper, anchovy and garlic, with both giving you the chance to taste the beef in its raw form.

Next you'll enjoy a vintage Wagyu scotch fillet, which comes with a notable marble score of five plus, and a premium dry aged rump both cooked on the parrilla (Argentinean charcoal barbecue). You also enjoy beef fat potatoes, salad and a decadent dessert to cap it off.

Add in matched wines – starting with a specially paired cocktail then showcasing rich reds that go with beef so well – or just enjoy the food on its own.
