Event description
To celebrate International International Women's Day, we are honoured to be joined by Sally Rugg (Executive Director, Change.org).

About this Event

An equal world is an enabled world. How will you help forge a gender equal world? Celebrate women's achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. This year's theme #EachforEqual is drawn from the notion of 'collective individualism'. We are all parts of a whole. Our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets can have an impact on our larger society.

Sally Rugg is the Executive Director of Change.org, Australia’s largest social change platform. In her previous role with GetUp! Sally worked at the forefront of Australia’s campaign for marriage equality and continues to work as an LGBTIQ+ activist and advocate. Her debut book How Powerful We Are (Hachette, 2019) is about dirty politics, sophisticated digital campaigning, a raw personal story and the warts-and-all journey of how Australia said Yes to love in the largest social movement the country has seen.

International Women's Day is powered by the collective efforts of all. We strongly encourage you to invite a person of a different gender to this event. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.
