Description

Registration Open at 4:45pm,

Workshop commence 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

SafeWork NSW will be hosting a workshop on Falls From Heights – Scaff SAFE. The event is FREE for all but places are limited so register today.

Falls from heights (FFH) has been identified as a priority issue in the SafeWork Work Health and Safety Roadmap 2022, as it is a leading cause of worker fatalities and serious injuries across all industries, with the vast majority of falls from heights occurring in the construction industry. The top 3 things workers fall from are ladders, roofs and scaffolds.

SafeWork NSW will be conducting a series of information sessions to assist PCBUs with compliance. These sessions will provide information on the legislative requirements surrounding scaffolding and working from heights in general, and advise on what SafeWork inspectors will look for when inspecting scaffolding and other fall protective measures on site.

The presentation will cover information on:

  • Adequate controls are in place to manage the risks of falls;
  • Scaffolding and edge-protection systems are properly installed and maintained;
  • All potentially hazardous openings on a building site are securely covered;
  • Suitable controls are in place on fragile and brittle roofs, and in the presence of other hazards such as skylights;
  • Ladders are being used appropriately.

You may also be eligible for a Rebate of up to $500 through Small Business Rebate Program, this can be used to purchase safety equipment.

If you have any issues with registering or require further information, please contact our Coffs Harbour SafeWork team on 02 6659 1700.
